2007 ScubaLab Fin Test: Bonus Online Content
September 28, 2007
Our team of 12 test divers and five test supervisors spent a week putting 18 new fin designs to the test.

In the market for a new pair of fins? Then you won't want to miss the November issue of Scuba Diving, which is the only place you'll find the results of our 2007 ScubaLab Fin Test. Our team of 12 test divers and five test supervisors spent a week at Capt. Don's Habitat on the island of Bonaire this summer putting 18 new fin designs to the test. We measured each fin for speed, thrust, and maneuverability and then had multiple test divers provide scores and comments on 10 crucial areas of fit, features and performance. By week's end, the team had invested 270 diver hours in morning speed, slalom and thrust tests and completed 170 afternoon ergo dives. In all, our divers generated more than 450 pages of speeds, times, scores and comments, demonstrating once again that nobody consistently collects as much data, on such a wide variety of fins, as ScubaLab.

The November issue of Scuba Diving, which goes out to subscribers Sept. 24 and is scheduled to hit newsstands on Oct. 16. Look for it at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books a Million or at one of the more than 650 Golden Tank dive centers that carry the magazine. To find one near you, visit www.scubadiving.com/goldentankretailers. Until then, you can enjoy our exclusive online bonus content.

Capt. Don's Habitat
Greetings from Capt. Don's Habitat, the site of our 2007 ScubaLab Fin Test. In this rare video interview, the captain himself explains why this popular dive resort is more than just a hotel and dive shop. "Don't call it a resort—it's a habitat," he says.

Bonus Bonaire Content
We chose Bonaire as our host island and Capt. Don's Habitat as our resort for the 2007 Fin Test for several reasons, not the least of which was the unlimited 24-hour-day shore diving available right off the resort's the walk-in dive dock. Click here for more information on Bonaire and why it's the Shore Diving Capital of the World.
