New Species Discovered
In 2007, Greenpeace, used one-person submarines to explore the world's largest underwater canyon: Zhemchug Canyon, in Alaska's Bering Sea. The team discovered a new species of sponge, along with 14 types of coldwater coral — many of which were previously unrecorded in the Bering Sea.
