Win a Nomadic Philippines Dive Safari Contest Hints.

A dive safari provides us the opportunity to dive in a variety of locations, stay in charming local hotels by night and enjoy the diversity that the Philippines has to offer. In effect, a dive safari is a nomadic dive trip. This formula of dive travel is like combining the best of both a liveaboard and a dive resort. We spend time on land in the evenings, yet we move between several spots for greater diversity than a single dive resort.

On a dive safari we stay in charming local beach hotels. The choice of our hotels is based on our perception of a dive trip: charm and conviviality are more important than luxury. Most of our accommodation choices offer all the necessary comforts, however we give preference to the scenery, quality of service and optimal location relating to the dive sites visited on our excursions.

The Bangka is a traditionally built Philippino outrigger boat and is the best way for divers to discover the different islands visited. A hull constructed from wood with a large deck and spacious cabin, the Bangka comfortably accommodates 14 to 18 divers maximum. The boat is balanced by 2 bamboo outriggers which guarantees the sea keeping stability (those who get sea sick will appreciate this) and is actually quite fast (average speed 12 knots). The deck space and the cabin provide great comfort during the crossings and the area dedicated to diving offers plenty of space for dive gear with easy entries into the water.

Our Bangka boats stay with the group for the entire safari. This means that during your dive vacation your dive gear stays on the dive boat for the entire safari. Each day you board the bangka after breakfast and head off to explore the surrounding dive sites. All your gear is ready to put on and dive into paradise.

Abyssworld proposes 3 different itineraries in the Philippines. Back in 1991 we started with the Visayas and to this day it is one of our most loved safaris. Many of our divers adore the safari concept so much that they return to try either Magellan or Camiguin. Having three itineraries also helps us to increase the length of the dive season as the Philippines has several separate micro-climates.

Currently, Abyssworld proposes safaris, expeditions and liveaboards to 11 destinations around the globe. Every one of our trips is created, managed and guided by a Team Abyss dive guide. For more information on these destinations please click here to visit us at www.abyssworld.com/diving/
