My friend Chris and I planned a two week trip to BALI for the first time. We booked our own air transportation but left the rest of the trip in the hands of Aquamarine Dive Shop in Bali. Our goal was to dive a multitude of dives all over the island of Bali and see many different areas of Bali and Dives. Aquamarine set the whole thing up and I could not have asked for anything better and for a price that was just too good! The resorts (5 total) were all fantastic and clean and some were actually way more than I could have expected. The diving provided was varied from Muck (Critter diving), to walls, to reefs, drift, Manta (one of the most unique and memorable dives of my life!), Bat Cave, Wreck (Liberty which is a world class wreck dive!) with both shore and boat diving. The transportation between locations was on time and very comfortable and friendly and safe. The boats were fast and roomy and had everything that we needed. The shore diving was provided with Porters to deal with our gear and it was easy and without concern. The dive guide (Aan) was with us for the 11 days and did all 34 dives with us. He was always attentive and adjusted our dives to accomodate our wants, desires and needs (I am a photographer and have a large camera and he changed several dive sites due to conditions to accomodate my camera and our diving.) These modifications were done with complete communication and we felt he had our best interests and our diving in mind when he would discuss it with us.
My fiance' was also in Indonesia at the time and went to Wakatobi with a girlfriend of hers for a week. They both met up with us after the week in Wakatobi and completed another week in BALI. Their trip to Wakatobi was nice but it was even better on BALI for the second half. The resorts were nicer on Bali and the diving easier and the guides much more friendly and accomodating than on Wakatobi. The added plus that it was a fraction of the cost of Wakatobi to get the same sort of diving experience but much nicer surroundings!!! The dive shop worked out all the details for us and got us all configured to be diving and staying together and coordinated all of the transfers and dive boats and guides even when we wanted to do different dives in the same day! A great experience indeed!
All in all it was an extroidinary experience and I would have Aquamarine book a trip for me anytime. Thier itinerary even followed right in line with a great dive guide book that we found called Diving Bali. I cannot wait to bring back some friends in the next year or so to repeat or modify our experience based upon what Aquamarine would set up for us. 5 stars are not enough.... they are a first class operation and I would put any diver (novice to instructor) in thier capable hands! Thank You!!!
