Fellow Divers
My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful week at the Moon Palace Resort in Punta Cana; Dominican Republic from August 8 to 15-th 2009.
This Resort is brand new but there's no dive-center at the beach, due to rough conditions and missing Marina.
The second day, we talked to Fernando, a Rep of Sunny-C Vacations and he recommended doing a double tank dive with Pelicano Watersports next morning.
Well, we followed his recommendation and booked for each one of us the Diving that takes place a couple of miles away in Bavaro.
Prize for the double tank dive: USD 135 each.
Next morning, a very nice local cab driver arrived on time at the Lobby and brought us to the VIK Resort in Bavaro. At Pelicano, the team gave us a perfect warm welcome and briefing.
After changing and checking the prepared equipments, the locals lifted all gears to the boat and we just had to jump aboard the Dive Catamaran.
During the 15 minutes boat ride, we enjoyed the views of white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Marco, our German dive guide (excellent English knowledge!) lead us to the Astron Wreck & Rondana dive spot.
The sea was amazing calm, the visibility amazing and especially the wreck absolutely impressive! Tons of yellow snappers in front of the sunken boat... Unforgettable!
During the second dive, we met some Barracudas and Stingrays, respectfully floating away from our dive group.
Returning the the Pelicano dive base, a staff served us cold drinks, we were offered a shower and tired but happy went back the Moon Palace Resort with the nice Taxi guy.
We dived some locations in the US and Europe, but never experienced such excellent services and individual attention as with Pelicano Watersports. This company is German owned and seems to give the best services around.
Honest recommendation for diving in Punta Cana: Go with Pelicano!
