I just returned from yet another amazing trip to Cozumel. Those of you who know me, are well aware of my fondness for this special Mexican island located in the Caribbean Sea. Cozumel’s warm crystal clear sea is teeming with colorful marine life for as far as the eye can see or for as long as you can safely stay underwater.
Notable sightings on this trip include Black Tip Reef Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Huge Angel Fish (Queen, Grey, Blue), Eagle Rays, Sea Turtles and the endemic Cozumel Splendid Toad fish to name a few.
There are no bad dives in Cozumel!
Seventeen other divers from New York, New Jersey and Florida joined me for this adventure. My Instructor and friend, Rick Maxwell of Scuba Network coordinated the trip and above water activities. My friend, the first person to introduce me to manual underwater photography, Cesar Zepeda, and his professional crew from Caribbean Divers Cozumel led the dives.
Dive Sites:
Paradise Reef
Palancar Gardens
Palancar Caves
Palancar Cuevones
Punta Tunich
Punta Sur (Cathedral)
Paseo Del Cedral
La Francesca
Tormentos
Yucab
Chankanaab
I’m always amazed that every trip to Cozumel feels like the first visit. The crystal clear waters combined with Mexican culture/cuisine and people never disappoint. I’m already thinking about my next visit!
