Granted, the world’s largest artificial reef is best appreciated by those trained to explore the flight deck at 145 feet, but it’s still worth the 22-mile boat trek from Pensacola to witness sections of this 911-foot-long aircraft carrier (the decking island starts at 84 feet). Spanish hogfish, butterflyfish and other angelfish are common; the lucky diver can encounter anything from passing whale sharks to mantas.
