At Point Lobos State Reserve in Monterey, this is the only entry and exit point for divers at a site that offers loads of variety, with pinnacles, kelp forests and caves. It can be a long snorkel to exit the cove. Then head to the left or right. In either direction, you can encounter leopard and blue sharks, harbor seals, sea lions, lings and rockfish. Consider making reservations.
