Tusa BCJ-1800 Voyager
SPECS
» Style Jacket
» Weight System Velcro: Ditchable Pouches
» Dry Weight 6.15 pounds
www.tusa.com

PRICE RANGE $400 and under

TEST STATS Real-World Performance: 3 (GOOD)

PERFORMANCE
Marketed for travel and warm-water diving, the Voyager was the lightest BC in our tests, with size large weighing a fraction over 6 pounds. The two main storage pockets are large and easily accessible, and there is a third zippered storage for smaller accessories. Though some testers found the Voyager’s weight system difficult to ditch in water due to the pocket placement and stiffness of the Velcro closure, Tusa says its field experience has found that weight ditching becomes easier after about 10 dives, when the Velcro relaxes. The LP inflator assembly and rear dump valve were efficient and easy to operate, and the system handled the runaway-inflation tests well. An economical travel BC with very good stability and good performance scores, the Voyager earned our Testers’ Choice award in the $400 and Under category.

BEST FOR Travel, entry-level diving, general recreational diving
