TEST STATS 3 (GOOD)

PERFORMANCE
The GP-4000 Compass+ is a moderately priced module-based system rich in features. Testers liked the digital compass, ability to switch between three gases during the dive, freshwater setting and graphical dive-profile depiction at the top of the main data display. While some testers felt the dive information lacked separation — items seemed to run together when glancing at the screen — most of our testers liked the main dive-screen layout, the availability of critical information at a glance, and the ease of accessing the compass and alternate data screens.

LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE Moderate to conservative in most of our objective test profiles. To make it more conservative, there are three user-adjustable safety factors.

BOTTOM LINE The Compass+ is a lot of bang for the buck, with plenty of features and capability.
