ScubaLab First Look: BARE drysuit; GoPro camera housing; SCUBAPRO mask

BARE TRILAM TECH DRY DRYSUIT

The Trilam Tech Dry is a self-donning, front-entry drysuit made from a rugged polyester/butyl/polyester trilaminate using two-needle felled seam glue (for added seam strength) and heat-taped construction. The waterproof zipper is a high-flex/low-profile Ti-Zip MasterSeal. Customizing choices include either neoprene or latex seals, and vulcanized 4 mm compressed-density neoprene boots or compression-resistant soft socks. It's available in seven standard sizes in black with red or blue accents, and it comes with a lifetime guarantee on seams and workmanship. Price: $1,499.95; baresports.com

GOPRO CAMERA HOUSING

GoPro has finally optimized the underwater housing for its popular palm-size HD Hero mini cameras. The updated case, which measures 3 inches square, features a large (relative to the size of the housing) flat glass lens designed to achieve maximum image sharpness while underwater. The housing is waterproof to 197 feet, and includes a protective lens cap, tether strings and some mounting hardware. It comes with a one-year limited warranty, and is compatible with all HD Hero cameras, GoPro mounts and most accessories. Price:$49; gopro.com

SCUBAPRO SPECTRA TRUFIT MASK

Mask skirts don’t come much softer than the one on SCUBAPRO’s dual-lens Spectra Trufit. Ribs molded into the malleable silicone provide a balance of softness and shape. This results in an extremely pliable skirt that molds to facial contours, creating an excellent seal, even against facial hair. The dual-lens design offers good field of view. Strap buckles attach to molded tabs on the skirt rather than the frame; this allows for more range of motion when dialing in fit, plus it enables the mask to fold flat for easy packing. Price: $88; scubapro.com
