Freezing time is an incredible power. Modern digital photography affords it to anyone with a camera. Yet what each of us does with this capability differs greatly — from simple, spontaneous snapshots to calculated, complex compositions. But no matter what the strategy, a great shot is a great shot.

Our annual photography competition showcases underwater images in four categories: macro, wide-angle, divers and behavior. We were blown away by submissions from shooters across the globe. Enjoy the show in the photo gallery above.
