A mimic blenny yawning, with lighting created by using a snoot on the strobe to create a spotlight effect — it took lots of patience to gain the subject’s trust, and fast reactions to capture the yawn. Modern digital photography affords it to anyone with a camera. Yet what each of us does with this capability differs greatly — from simple, spontaneous snapshots to calculated, complex compositions.
