African Queen - Ocean City, Maryland

This 590-foot-long tanker ran aground on Gull Shoal in 1958, prompting the captain to command “full astern,” resulting in too much pressure on the vessel, snap- ping it in two. To- day, only the bow section remains, upside down at a depth of 73 feet.
