Take a Look: Scuba Diving magazine's 2012 "LOOK" pages
Look JulyMonterey Bay, Calif.: The Pacific black dragonfish (Idiacanthus antrostomus) was part of a project documenting deep-sea animals in Monterey Bay. I partnered with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and Moss Landing Marine Labs to gain special access to live and collected organisms, to reveal what lives in these distant alien habitats. Monterey is home to one of the world's largest submarine canyons; its proximity to shore is unique, allowing easier access to deep marine habitats than in other places in the world.
We've taken the images chosen for each Look section from the 2012 issues and rounded them up for your viewing pleasure. Which is your favorite?
