As seen featured in a recent article on Eleuthera diving in Scuba Diving Magazine, is our signature dive, the Cobia Fish Cage. In the article our dive instructor Neal Watson Jr. goes on to tell about this rare dive site, “The water is always crystal clear here and as soon as you jump in, an army of yellowtail snappers is all over you. Then you drop down 60 feet from the edge of a gorgeous wall until you get to this mesh, steel supported cage that’s about 70 feet tall and 100 feet wide, anchored to the bottom. It looks like a UFO. The Cape Eleuthera Institute installed and maintains it and stocks it with a few thousand cobia to study and harvest. Since the cage is so near the wall, pelagics like bull and reef sharks come by, and you also get your occasional hammerheads and spotted eagle rays. On the wall there’s a lot of black coral, tube sponges, barrel sponges and lots of sea whips.” A definite “must-see” in the Bahamas!
