ScubaLab took a first look at the MaskOptix Diving Prescription Eyeglasses. These glasses are prescription-ready and designed specifically to fit under the scuba diving mask. The glasses feature a lightweight, low-profile frame.

The sides of it have a super-thin cable temple. This allows the glasses to sit flush against the face without interfering with the mask skirt.

The frames are available in a variety of styles, all of which keep the lenses closer to the eye for the widest possible field of view. The back of the frame includes a flexible ear hook, which holds the glasses securely in place when clearing or removing a mask.

The lenses can be equipped with an anti-fog coating for a crystal clear view without having to use defog or other products. Users have a choice of lens materials. They also have the option to add extras such as polarizing filters or photochromic sunglass lenses.

Most importantly, the lenses can be outfitted with the user's exact eyeglass prescription. This includes single vision prescriptions, bifocals, and even progressive lenses. The glasses can be worn topside, just like a normal pair of eyeglasses, which makes them suitable for a variety of adventures underwater and on land.

The ability to wear the glasses on land and beneath the sea is especially convenient for divers, as they won't need to change between eyewear during their surface interval. Whether for a day of diving or for an extended dive trip, these glasses are a handy solution for optimal vision before, during and after a dive.
