Isla Mujeres Diving

Overview

Just 8 miles offshore from Cancun, Isla Mujeres is a popular day trip for partiers looking for relaxation.

But this fish-shaped island is a worthy vacation destination in its own right, particularly for anglers and divers, or for those seeking a true do-nothing escape. Most visitors get around on golf carts (if they move around at all). Mostly, it's a walk to the beach or a walk to the boat slip.

Tranquil Playa Norte is the most popular beach and El Garrafon Reef (a national underwater park) attracts snorkelers and divers, you'll need more time.
