The Solmar V is known for being a pioneer, being the first liveaboard to bring divers to the Socorro and Guadalupe islands off Mexico’s Pacific Coast. Since 1993, this vessel has been a leader in the liveaboard community for safety as well as experience.

On October 30, 2018, The Pelagic Fleet, operators of the Solmar V, will launch a new, faster and more exclusive yacht, the Socorro Vortex. For its inaugural cruise, Peter Hughes who helped design the Socorro Vortex, will join the sailing. Delivering the utmost in luxury and spaciousness for 14 guests per sailing, the yacht includes a restaurant-style dining room wherein private parties can dine together; alternately, guests can dine group style on the al fresco dining deck. The Socorro Vortex will offer divers complimentary Nitrox and will be optimized to cater to rebreather diving.

Beginning in 2019, the Socorro Vortex, along with Solmar V, will travel to Guadalupe for five-day cage diving with great white sharks from August through October. November through June, both yachts can be found sailing the waters of the Revillagigedo Islands aka Socorro. Diving in Socorro is known for exciting encounters with giant mantas, dolphins, humpback whales, seven species of sharks and much more!

Also, new this year, Pelagic Safari, proud member of Pelagic Fleet, will begin offering day-trips. These trips, departing from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, will allow guests to snorkel or free-dive in waters known for encounters with sharks, Mobula rays, dolphins, marlin, sea lions, Orcas, etc. depending on the season.
