A dive computer is one of the essential pieces of equipment and will make your lives easier and safer. When used properly, they can keep you safe by providing real-time data on the fly as your dive plan changes. They are a great tool, providing vital information, such as your dive time, depth, no decompression limit, safety stop, and ascent rate. Throughout your dive, you will monitor your dive computer to stay within the safety limits on each dive. Audible alerts will let you know when you go too deep, reach the end of your dive time, if you are nearing your no decompression limit, or begin ascending too quickly.

The introduction of the Shearwater Peregrine dive computer brings all you'd expect from Shearwater in a sleek new design. We wanted this computer to be accessible to everyone, especially new divers. The Peregrine comes packed with new features to improve your dive experience. The beginner-friendly Peregrine won't overwhelm you with details, so new divers can simply jump in the water and enjoy their dive. We've also adapted the menus for new divers, and they are now even easier to use. The bright, readable, full-colour LCD screen keeps you focused on your dive. With the simple display, your depth, time, and no decompression limits are all clearly visible, and the screen isn't cluttered by extra information. The Peregrine charges wirelessly using the included charging pad or any compatible third-party chargers, meaning you can charge it anywhere and anytime. The 30-hour battery life gives you many dives between charging. The Peregrine comes with a built-in vibration alarm, and these alarms are fully customizable, allowing you to dive the way that you want.

Shearwater's first youngest blogger, 14-year-old Beth Sadler, shares her first dive experience as she embarks on her adventure in diving:
"My new nickname is "Oh look a crab!". I forget what I'm doing and start following the fish. It's driving my mum, who is also my buddy, crazy!
Two months ago, I attended a PADI Women's Dive Day event run by Fourth Element. I didn't really want to go because my friends were going to the beach, but I'm so glad I did. I was given the chance to do a "try dive," and although it looked like the gear I had to wear was almost as big as I was, I was excited to give it a go. The moment I put the regs in my mouth and placed my face in the ocean, I felt so free and ready to explore. It really is like a whole other world. All the noise of the busy beach disappeared as the creepy crawlies emerged.

Of course, I am the typical Cornish kid; I've jumped, swam, snorkelled, surfed and rowed my way around and into the ocean, but diving was so different. I felt as though I became part of the marine life instead of just observing it from the surface. Fish were the first thing I encountered. The way they glide through the water next to you is unimaginable. My first fish was grey with small stripes on its body; it wasn't scared of me just like I wasn't scared of it, its eyes locked onto mine, and that is a moment I will never forget!
After exploring with Rannvá Tórfríð Jørmundsson, my instructor, we ended the dive, and I immediately felt all the weight of my kit, pushing me into the floor. It was so heavy, but I couldn't stop grinning! I then knew that I wanted to be a diver and explore!" (Read Full Article)
