TEST STATS 4 (VERY GOOD)

PERFORMANCE
Suunto has redesigned its D-series computers, with the Suunto D4i retaining the basic interface and features of its predecessor, but with air integration through the use of an optional wireless transmitter. Additional features are a new matrix display, chronograph function in the dive modes, and more profile-sampling-rate options. A popular wrist computer among free divers, the inclusion of air integration will make the Suunto D4i equally appealing to recreational divers. Our testers found the Suunto D4i easy to configure and the menus simple to navigate. The data display is small but easy to read and makes efficient use of available space.

LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE Moderate to liberal in most objective tests, and yielded only conservative figures in one test. There are three user-adjustable personal factors.

BOTTOM LINE The Suunto D4i is an attractive wristwatch-style computer that should appeal to both free-diving and scuba enthusiasts.
