Patrick M. Rose, Save the Manatee Club

What's a more thoughtful gift than a manatee adoption from Save The Manatee Club? We're Florida divers here at Scuba Diving magazine, so we're big fans of this program. The Sunshine State's manatees can be adopted online at savethemanatees.org, or by calling the Club at 1-800-432-5646. Funds from the adoption program go toward manatee conservation and aquatic ecosystem protection programs for these marine mammals. The annual manatee adoption cost is $25, which includes a full-color photo, biography, membership handbook and a subscription to the Club's newsletters. Gift adoptions are sent with a personalized holiday message. Won't you help one of these gentle giants? Contact the Save the Manatee Club (500 N. Maitland Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751) by calling 1-800-432-5646. Visit the website at www.savethemanatee.org/adoptees to check out the manatees available for adoption.

Yellow Cake Crafts has the perfect gift for all your cat-loving, scuba-diving friends. Yellow Cake explains: Jacques Chatsteau is a scuba-diving cat who loves exploring the oceans! He charts his travels and discoveries in journals that have been published to worldwide acclaim; schools and educational programs have been established in his name; he invented the Scub-Cat that allows his fellow felines to venture underwater without getting their beautiful coats wet! And to think — it all began with his favorite pastime, a simple hobby, really — collecting starfish, which he continues to this day. He has his own notepad and print, which is an 8.5-inch x 11-inch sheet of Ilford Galerie professional inkjet range smooth pearl paper; image measures approximately 5 inches by 6.65 inches with a white border all around. You can even get a snorkeling cat card for $3.50 to go with your scuba gifts this holiday season.
