DIVE SITE: POS 2
WHERE: Menjangan Island, northwest Bali
HOW TO GET THERE: Boat dive with an average depth of around 80 feet
WHAT TO SEE: Sea fans, whip corals, anemonefish, damselfish and pygmy seahorses

The spot is called POS 2. It is a 30-minute boat ride off northwest Bali on Menjangan Island. The area is surrounded with steep walls that drop down to 60-70 meters. Sometimes, there may be a very slight current, which ensures thriving hard and soft corals. The visibility is always fine to good, ranging from 18 to 25 meters. _

_The wall is better dived at at a depth of 15 to 25 meters as that's where you'll find the most spectacular coral growth. The site is known for very large sea fans — probably the largest in Bali — whip corals and many sponges. All are characteristic of Menjangan walls.

Around 25 to 30 meters, some of the huge sea fans are home to Denise pygmy seahorses, so the dive can be done by alternating between looking into the blue where sometimes spotted eagle rays are flying past and exploring the reefs for critters or fish life. The main coral fish that populate the walls are anemone damselfish or clownfish, as well as swarms of basslets.
