Little Cayman Beach Resort

How often have you heard this phrase about any dive area: You should have seen it back in the old days? This phrase, in all its variations, applies to just about any outdoor sport, and in many cases, the truth be known, things were better back in the old days. Well if you'd like a taste of what the grand lady of Caribbean diving - the Cayman Islands - was like back in the old days, there's no better way to experience it than by diving Little Cayman Island from the Little Cayman Beach Resort. The Little Cayman Beach Resort offers the unique combination of uncrowded, hassle-free, old-time Cayman diving combined with all the modern amenities that make diving safe and fun and shore-side living a modern-day pleasure. Little Cayman Beach Resort offers 28 pool-view rooms and 12 luxury oceanfront rooms. All rooms feature air conditioning, ceiling fans, television, private bath and your own balcony or patio providing beautiful vistas of this 1-by-10-mile island, the smallest of the Caymans. The oceanfront digs also feature microwaves, refrigerators and coffee makers. The 1999 topside version of how the Caymans used to be also features gourmet food, fresh seafood and island favorites (and quite a well-stocked wine list) in the air-conditioned Bird of Paradise restaurant. Or, you can choose to take your libations at the Beach Nuts Bar (and add your name to the ceiling collage of those who've been there before you; they'll provide the paint and brushes). If you really must stay in touch with the outside world, there are complete phone and fax facilities. The resort also offers laundry service, an ice machine and sign-out bicycles (for cruising the island). The resort's rooms and restaurant are also all smoke-free. For after-dive activities, there's a freshwater pool, lighted tennis court, a health and beauty salon (complete with licensed masseuse and Jacuzzi), a complete fitness center a game room and a library. Forgot something? Simple. Check out the resort's Mermaid's Boutique. But it's the diving at Bloody Bay Wall and Jackson Bight you really came for (and, yes, you'll also get your shot at Cayman Brac's famed MV Captain Keith Tibbetts, the former Russian destroyer), right? One of the top-rated dive operations in the world, Reef Divers, just happens to be based out of the Little Cayman Beach Resort as well. With three 42-foot Newton custom dive boats that depart for a two-tank dive at 8:30 a.m. and a one-tanker at 2 p.m., you'll be diving from some of the best boats in the dive industry. Nitrox diving is available (as are Nitrox courses and computers) and nearly every manner of PADI dive specialty course is also available. For photographers (or those itching to become underwater photographers), there's the Reef Photo and Video center, the oldest full-service professional underwater center in the Sister Islands. Film processing, camera rentals, video rentals and equipment repairs, plus regular coaching or full-on certification courses in photography, are all offered. For a taste of the Cayman Islands like they used to be, and a chance to experience some of the most picturesque and beautiful dive sites in the world, the choice is simple: Little Cayman Beach Resort, where quality relaxation, professional diving and the beauty of island living never go out of style.
