The coastal and inland waters of Canada have a lot to offer the cold water diver. Browning's Wall, which is located near Vancouver Island in British Colombia, was labeled as one of the world's best diving sites by Jacques Cousteau. The region is rich in marine life, including colorful soft corals and anemones that cover every square inch of rock with life. Frequent interactions with resident wolf eels and giant octopus are punctuated by sightings of free swimming pods of white-sided dolphin and orcas. In the Great Lakes, hundreds of perfectly preserved shipwrecks offer divers a glimpse of maritime history. The Tobermore region is famous for it's wreck sites, while the entire north shore of Lake Superior also has a lot to offer the wreck enthusiast. There is a small but thriving dive industry in the Thousand Isles, and to the east, Nova Scotia and Cape Breton provide abundant opportunities for seal encounters, wreck dives and adventures in rock and kelp gardens.
