There’s a new app that brings you about as close to the underwater world as you can get without ever getting wet, or leaving your home for that matter. PADI has partnered with I love the Sea to bring you, The Must of the Sea— a new and exciting virtual reality diving experience for those who’d like to see what exploring the underwater world is like.

The first app in the series, titled “Feel,” is already available in the app store or by visiting themustofthesea.com. In total, the app will be offered in three tiers with the second experience scheduled to launch later this month.

Chief Marketing Officer for PADI Worldwide, Kristin Valette says “While the immersive virtual reality experience is a draw for non-divers, PADI Members will also delight in using the app themselves, because it not only provides a novel way to explore legendary dive sites, it can also be used to give friends and families a taste of the fun and adventure our members find in diving – and demonstrate in a new and utterly convincing way why we all love diving so much!”

We are hoping to test the new app out for ourselves at this year’s DEMA show in Las Vegas Nov. 16-19. Until then, take a look at the preview below and imagine watching this through virtuality reality goggles.
