Florida Keys Advanced Certification Course
Every certified diver knows the feeling of pride and accomplishment that goes with receiving their Open Water Diver Certification card. That pride and excitement is the key to a whole new world, but it is only the beginning. A good diver never stops learning. There is no better way to keep enjoying the sport of SCUBA diving and to keep skills sharp than to take the next step in diving education. The Advanced Open Water course introduces divers to five different types of diving, which will give them confidence and skills to better enjoy the underwater world. Even though it is a class, it is a fun way of learning by doing, without a lot of classroom emphasis. This class is the best way for open water divers to be sure that they will continue to enjoy this sport that is so exciting and so much fun! When diving in the Keys, you can take the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course at the Florida Keys Diving Center. The course includes:
- Two-day complete Advanced Open Water certification course
- All Instruction
- All Charter Boat Fees
- Five Dives: 2 Core Dives (Navigation, Deep) and 3 personally selected dives from the following PADI Specialty Courses (Nite, Wreck, U/W Photo, U/W Naturalist, Boat, Drift, and Multilevel diving)
- Course Manual and Diver Workslate
- U/W Light and all special equipment
- Certification Fees
- Tank Rental and Air Fills Divers should be prepared to bring full scuba equipment, including regulator with pressure gauge, depth gauge, compass and octopus, buoyancy compensator with power inflator, dive knife, timing device, signaling device, weight belt, and wet suit. A 10% student discount is available on equipment rentals and up to 20% on equipment purchases. Interested in purchasing your own scuba equipment package? Order in advance and receive added discounts. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed to give the diver a taste of what more specialized diving activities have to offer, stressing practical application rather than theory. All dives, such as this Search and Recovery Elective Dive, are done on the beautiful coral reefs and artificial wrecks of the Florida Keys. Advanced Open Water candidates are required to be comfortable with their basic diving skills. If you are a little rusty or it has been over 6 months since your last dive we recommend that you do a pool check with an instructor and a day or two of diving prior to your class start date. If it has been over a year since your last dive a pool check with an Instructor becomes a minimum requirement with emphasis on at least one boat dive prior to starting your course. COST: $280.00 (based on two person min. add $50.00 for private class) HOW TO REGISTER: A $50.00 deposit is required two weeks prior to the course starting date. Upon receipt, Florida Keys Diving Center will send you your course packet containing manual, course assignments, itinerary sheet, and PADI Medical Statement.
