Adidas Creates Stylish Shoes and Soccer Jerseys from Recycled Ocean Plastics
When the international soccer stars took the pitch for Bayern Munich on Nov. 5, they were wearing much more than sleek red jerseys. Adidas hopes they were wearing the future of sportswear.
The team – which played Hoffenheim to a 1-1 draw — sported jerseys made from recycled plastic cleaned up from the waters surrounding the Maldives. Adidas crafted the jerseys for Bayern and Real Madrid — who will wear their all-white kits on Nov. 26 when they play Sporting Gijon — in cooperation with Parley for the Oceans, an organization working to address major threats to our underwater world.

Adidas also released Ultraboost shoes that were made with Parley Ocean Plastic today, giving consumers the chance to don stylish kicks while supporting marine conservation.
