HOW TO GET THERE

Flights arrive daily at Bermuda's L.F. Wade International Airport, which recently underwent a major, million-dollar runway resurfacing in 2008. It's located about 10 miles from the city of Hamilton. This is a small airport and there is not much in the way of shopping or food service, and the airport closes after the last flight.

As of publish date, Bermuda has scheduled commercial flights to/from Atlanta; Baltimore; Boston Mass.; Logan; Charlotte/Douglas, N.C.; Chicago-O'Hare; Fort Lauderdale; Miami International; Munich; New York; Newark; New York - La Guardia; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC and Washington-Dulles and internationally from Halifax; London Gatwick ( 6.75 to 7.75 hours) and Toronto.

There are no commercial scheduled direct flights between Bermuda and any of the Caribbean islands. Getting there via the U.S. or Canada is the only way.

Cruising is one of the best ways to visit Bermuda, and it's no wonder that more than 300,000 visitors choose to arrive in Bermuda via ship. One of the advantages of cruise ships are the many departure ports along the east coast of the United States. Cruise ships depart from New York, Baltimore, Norfolk, Boston, Charleston, and Philadelphia and dock in Bermuda at either Kings Wharf or St. George.

Currently, none of the contracted cruise ships are docking in Hamilton, though the capital will receive a small number of casual visits from ships on longer Caribbean and transatlantic cruises.
