Orange County Sheriff's Dive Team Testimonials

Ty Sawyer

I have always been a U.S. Divers fan, and the trial with the Aqua Lung regulator and ABS octopus met my performance and quality standards: The breathing was free and effortless. I used regulator on a dive that includes an underwater obstacle course that required me to move into all positions possible to follow the course. The regulator performed well at all depths and positions. The mouthpiece was comfortable in my mouth and I did not feel any pull from any position. At the end of the dive was a serious rescue swim to pull a diver to shore; the regulator delivered all the air that was needed to finish the demanding swim.

My only disappointment was when I went to my favorite dive shop to purchase one: They advised me that they are no longer an Aqua Lung dealer. Now I have to decide whether to change dive equipment store or regulator brand.

While I was pleased with the performance of the Aeris regulator, first stage and gauges, I must note that the evaluation time was limited to one 35-minute dive in about 30 feet of fresh water. As a highlight, I can say the swivel design offered no resistance to motion. The materials appeared to of high quality and design, breathing from the regulator was effortless, and I felt no restriction of movement from hoses. I had the opportunity to breathe inverted with the equipment and experienced no problems.

I used the Sherwood magnum regulatror, Octopus and Suunto computor. I was very impressed with the computer and its instruments. It appears to be well constructed and designed for easy use. Unfortunaltely, I was only able to use it on only one dive. The Sherwood regulator was a pleasure to dive with: Its performance was as good as that of any I have used.
