DEMA ELECTS A NEW SLATE OF DIRECTORS

DEMA recently elected a new slate of directors to help direct industry-wide promotion and assist in the future development of the dive industry. In accordance with the DEMA bylaws several new directors have been elected to the 2003 DEMA Board. Directors typically serve two-year terms but can serve for a shorter period of time if they are replacing an outgoing director. Directors cannot serve more than one consecutive two-year term but can be re-elected after a minimum break of one year. In order to achieve fair and balanced representation, two Board Directors are elected from each of the five stakeholder groups: A1 - Manufacturers, A2 - Training Associations, A3 - Media, A4 - Dive Store Retailers, and A5 - Travel. Elections for officers of the Board were conducted in early February during the new DEMA Board's first meeting. This year, the President has appointed three Vice-Presidents.The following individuals will serve on the 2003 DEMA Board of Directors:Dan Babcock (DEMA Teasurer)XS ScubaSanta Ana, CAA1 Group - Manufacturer Bob Hollis (DEMA Vice-President)Oceanic USASan Leandro, CAA1 Group - Manufacturer Bob ClarkScuba Schools International (SSI)Ft.
