UmiHashi: Chopsticks Made From Recycled Ocean Plastic
UmiHashi is a company that aims to reduce ocean pollution by making chopsticks out of plastic marine debris.
When marine debris breaks down into the microplastic range — generally measuring less than 5 millimeters — it becomes easily consumed by our own seafood. UmiHashi takes plastic from the ocean and forms them into beautiful reusable chopsticks.
To bring light to an additional problem — overfishing — the chopsticks are only available in restaurants that serve sustainable sushi.
You can contribute to the company on Kickstarter.
