An unforgettable experience, the whale shark safari is your chance to snorkel with and photograph the world’s largest fish – a gentle giant.

The Pro Dive International Whale Shark Safari

Every year, whale sharks migrate to Isla Contoy, located in the north of the Yucatan Peninsula, to feed on plankton, squid, krill and small fish found in the Caribbean Sea. It is a summer spectacle, and Pro Dive International can guarantee sightings throughout the season, June through mid-September. While whale sharks usually travel alone, they gather in large numbers in areas with abundant food, such as Isla Contoy.

Where: Isla Contoy, Mexico
When: June to September. Pro Dive guarantees their sighting; guests can repeat at no cost if don’t see any.
Magical Moment: During peak season, you may find up to 200 whale sharks gathered in one place — sometimes even mantas and dolphins!

The Pro Dive International Bull Shark Experience

Every year during winter, when the water temperature drops a little, bull sharks can be seen in the area of Playa del Carmen (25 have been registered here; divers usually encounter between two and 10 on a dive). You have the chance to encounter these magnificent sharks, and you can also take part in an educational program to learn about them.

Where: Playa del Carmen, Mexico
When: December to March; Riviera Maya Shark School, Dec. 18-24, 2017
Magical Moment: Diving with bull sharks is an incredible opportunity to appreciate the majestic beauty of these sharks.

Mexico cenote

Considered the entrance to the mythical underworld by the ancient Maya, the cenotes can be dived by those with good buoyancy and air consumption, and comfortable in tight spaces.

Paul Duxfield & Pro Dive International

The Pro Dive International Cenote Experience

The Yucatan Peninsula is a huge limestone platform where fresh water runs like rivers through underground cave systems. Part of this land collapsed after the last ice age more than 8,000 years ago, creating sinkholes called cenotes. The word cenote is derived from the Mayan word “dzonot,” which means sacred well. These cenotes were considered the entrance to the mythical underworld by the ancient Maya.

Where: Riviera Maya, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
When: Year-round
Magical Moment: Beams of sunlight filter down from the entrance through all the cracks and openings of the cavern ceiling, shining on the stalactites, immersing you in a tranquil, beautiful setting.

Cozumel scuba diving

Take a plunge on the world’s most spectacular reefs, drop-offs and spectacular underwater formations off the largest of Mexico’s Caribbean islands, Cozumel.
