Celebrate Your Next Holiday with Buddy Dive Resort

Luckily for divers planning a dive vacation to the Caribbean island of Bonaire, every season has its advantages, but if you’re planning an end of summer vacation, fall getaway, winter holiday escape or Easter spring break at Buddy Dive Resort, you’re sure to have a memorable time. During these periods, Buddy Dive Resort welcomes guests with special themed underwater events and activities.
This year is special for Buddy Dive Resort as it marks the 45th anniversary of its 1980 opening. What’s ahead this year? Special events and celebrations, of course! Here’s your guide to what Buddy Dive has planned for the rest of 2025 and early 2026.

End-of-Summer Vacation
This is the perfect time for a family vacation, before the school year begins. Are your kids ready to experience the wonders of the ocean for themselves? Buddy Dive Resort is hosting a Kids Sea Camp from August 2-16, 2025. Parents and grandparents can take advantage of Buddy Dive’s Drive & Dive package, designed to accommodate do-it-yourself shore diving or you can choose boat diving from one of Buddy Dive’s boats.
While this is hurricane season elsewhere in the Caribbean, Bonaire’s location is outside the “hurricane belt.” It’s the ideal summer vacation destination for families—the island offers nonstop fun, with windsurfing, landsailing, kayaking, caving and catamaran tours. For divers, the action is nonstop as marine life peaks during summer.

“Fall” Into Tech Diving
The Bonaire TeK event is scheduled for September 27 to October 3, 2025. This event caters to technical divers, who can expand their training, as well as recreational divers, who will be introduced to a variety of technical experiences, including deep, cave, wreck, sidemount and CCR diving.
Fall is also a good time to experience the island’s coral spawning events, which can occur monthly between August and October.

Winter Holiday Getaway
Buddy Dive knows that your Christmas traditions are close to your heart, so they’ve created special events just for these holidays.
The “Underwater Champagne Hunt” is an annual underwater scavenger hunt that takes place every January 1st on the resort’s house reef. Locate the hidden bottle of champagne first and you’ll win a grand prize. You’ll also ring in the New Year with fireworks and a party for Buddy Dive guests.
The resort’s onsite restaurant, Ingridiënts, hosts four- and five-course meals on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Enjoy the chef-prepared meals while taking in gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea.

Easter and Spring Break Fun
While you just missed all the Easter fun this year, the team at Buddy Dive is already planning events for Easter 2026, including an underwater Easter egg hunt, where the winner receives a special grand prize.
You can also celebrate with a delicious Easter brunch at Ingridiënts, where you can sip a glass of wine while watching the chefs prepare the dishes for the brunch.
This time of year offers perfect summertime weather—little precipitation, low humidity, gentle trade winds—plus it’s nesting season for Bonaire’s flamingos.
