Guatemala has joined the Western Caribbean community of diving live-aboards. This Central American adventure destination now has a live-aboard that provides unique access to less-dived offshore regions of Belize, Honduras and Guatemala. The vessel ''THAT'' is a modern 62 foot trimaran that can accommodate up to 20 divers. It provides on-board accommodations, fresh meals and guided scuba diving by experienced PADI divemasters. While the trimaran serves as a mother-ship, guests dive from a dive tender skiff that takes passengers to nearby dive sites in small groups of 4 to 6 divers. Based at Antigua, Guatemala, the vessel begins its journey with a cruise down the Rio Dulce River, on its way to lesser known, but very dramatic Western Caribbean dive sites such as; Hunting Key, Seal Key, Bay Islands, Punta Gorda and other less populated locations. These sites are less populated because they are not easily accessible from other Central American gateways. Experienced divemasters lead guided dives on coral banks, drop-offs, shipwrecks and shallow reefs. Water temperature is a constant 80 F degrees. Other activities include snorkeling, beachcombing, exploring private islands, visiting native villages and enjoying the spectacular scenery and marine life.
