Meter Beater

Like many amateur underwater photographers, I use the automatic exposure mode for a high percentage of my pictures. But I worry about the camera's meter being fooled by a very dark or very light subject. Therefore, I bracket my exposures (take additional exposures over and under the recommended setting) to ensure a good picture. Another reason for bracketing: I may like the slightly overexposed or slightly underexposed picture more than the picture taken at the ''correct'' exposure setting.
