Scuba Diving Merit Badge Popular Among the Scouts

Since the launch of the Scuba Diving merit badge last year, Scouts all across America have joined their troops and families to get certified. Scouts are finding that they can participate in Scuba Diving almost anywhere. Whether you're located near a lake, ocean or quarry, there is a Scuba Diving opportunity available to everyone. You don't have to travel to earn this new badge.

Plus, scuba diving is the perfect compliment to Scouting values. It reinforces character development, self-reliance and physical fitness.

The new merit badge consists of four parts:

• Boy Scouts of Americas (BSA) requirements
• Scuba knowledge development
• Confined water dives
• Open Water Dives

Additionally, Scouts that are already certified in scuba just have to complete the remaining BSA requirements to receive their merit badge!
