Day 1 - Playa Del Carmen
Playa Del Carmen, once a small fishing town, has been transformed into a world-class beach town, full of young people who kite surf or hang out at beach bars during the day. At night, La Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue) comes alive, full of busy shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Day 2 - Tulum
South of Playa is Tulum, a sleepy beach town with a health-conscious vibe — if you’ve ever wanted to go on a yoga retreat, this is your place. Be sure to check out the beachside ruins here, which sit atop 40-foot cliffs. There are plenty of tours, but wandering the ruins on your own is just as rewarding.
Day 3 - Cozumel
Explore Cozumel, either underwater or topside. Only an hour by ferry from Playa, you can rent a scooter for the day and explore the island’s bountiful beaches. Be sure to hit the sparsely populated east side of the island and stop in at Coconuts for a cocktail.
Most of the Yucatan’s divable cenotes are between Cancun and Tulum, making for easy access to plentiful topside diversions too.
