Kittiwake: One Year Later

It’s been a full year since the USS Kittiwake has taken up residence in the clear blue waters off Grand Cayman. On January 5, 2011, the 251-foot-long ship was sunk in 60 feet of water to rest near the Sand Chute dive site, close to Seven Mile Beach. A year later, the island held a celebratory dive and snorkel of the five decks on the 47-foot-tall ship. Later that night festivities continued with the cutting of a large cake dedicated to the Kittiwake. Who says you can’t dive and have your cake too?
