Great White Takes Bite Out of Camera in South Africa

Recently, while pulling a remote underwater camera off the coast of South Africa, Charles Maxwell was able to capture footage of a 13-foot great white following his boat then trying take a bite out of the camera when it came to a stop.

"The professional underwater cinematographer, from Cape Town, has been capturing diverse underwater life for decades," the Daily Mail reports. "The Emmy Award winner has produced documentaries or shot material for some of the world’s leading nature programmes or publications, including BBC’s Planet Earth."

His camera also captured footage of much more docile marine creatures, including dolphins and seals.

In North America, two Florida fishermen who were followed for nearly two miles as they paddled in on their kayaks near Palm Beach, Florida; however, that didn't stop one of them from dropping a GoPro in the water to film some of the action.

The 13-foot shark circled the kayaks at least 30 times offshore from the town of Palm Beach. It even bumped into one of the vessels more than once, reports the Sun-Sentinel. "It's not really a huge thing to see sharks," kayaker Mark Naumovitz, of Port St. Lucie, said in an interview with the Sun-Sentinel, "But when you have a dorsal fin trailing you like its Jaws, it's a different story."
