Divers Can Pay Tribute at Underwater Memorial for Dead Near Miami, Florida
Its purpose is to create life after life.
Divers come to visit the Neptune Memorial Reef off the coast of Florida to pay respect to the dead and appreciate new life. Ashes from cremation are mixed with cement to create additions to the reef and memorial site, which was designed as an artistic representation of Atlantis.

The memorial — which is home to the remains of thousands of people — also features columns, lion statues and more. The dive site, at 40 feet, is a place where families can go to visit their loved ones as they become one with the growing habitat.
The Neptune Society says it identified 14 species of coral at the site that spans half an acre in 2012. Its located about three miles off the coast of Key Biscayne in South Florida.
