The cenotes and underwater caverns of Mexico, and the Yucatan Peninsula in particular, have long attracted scuba divers searching for beautiful sights.

Freediver and scuba instructor Julien Borde took us along for the ride amazing with Great Big Story, a video network "dedicated to the untold, overlooked and flat-out amazing."

"When you enter a cenote, it's really like going to a different world, leaving the planet behind," says Borde, who gives viewers a firsthand look at diving in the famed cenotes in the video above. "At first it can be a little bit scary, but soon the beauty of the place just takes over."
