We're going back to Tobago. Last year, we took a group with us to Speyside for the Mantas and Full Moons, Get Published in Sport Diver event. The diving was incredible, mantas showed up on cue, and the full moon hovered over the bay, putting a silver sheen on the trip. We had roti making, Indian dancers and, for the first time ever in Speyside, an Indian tassa band put out a beat that fired us all up. While we were there, we took a trip over to Little Tobago Island for a taste of the amazing bird life. It wasn't enough. So this year we're bringing back cameraman Michael Pitts of the BBC, I'll be there passing along everything I know about photography and storytelling, and we're going to add a full-on feather pursuit to the trip. Fins to Feathers - Tobago has more avian diversity than any other island in the Caribbean, so when we're not chasing mantas and turtles and tarpon, riding the currents through surreal, sponge-twisted underwater forests, and reveling in Tobago's famously abundant reefs, we'll seek out such famed feathery treasures as the rufous vented chacalaca, hummingbirds and red-billed tropic birds. Michael Pitts will lead us through the Western Hemisphere's oldest forest reserve and share techniques and tips for shooting BBC-style video of our flying friends.
