Ocean Divers Certifies 10,000th PADI Diver

Ocean Divers Certifies Its 10,000th Diver Ocean Divers, Key Largo, Florida, has reached two milestones in its history. Two years ago Ocean Divers celebrated being in continuous operation under the same ownership. This past accomplishment will be reached by only a few dive operations. The month of August brought several milestones. The first was reaching the 10,000th PADI certification and the second is that Ocean Divers served its 500,000th SCUBA diver. Mackenzie Tucker, while receiving her certification as a PADI Open Water Diver, became the 10,000th PADI-certified diver through Ocean Divers. Mackenzie came to Ocean Divers as an open water referral. Her home instructor was a graduate of Ocean Divers' Instructor Development Course. Scubapro presented Mackenzie with a new Scubapro mask, fin and snorkel set. Ocean Divers will give her an Advanced Open Water course and PADI will provide her with the books and materials for that course. This was all part of the celebration of Ocean Divers meeting this goal.

Jillian Holland was the 500,000th SCUBA diver to experience the beautiful reefs and exciting shipwrecks of the Upper Florida Keys with Ocean Divers. The goal was reached on a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the Santana, one of Ocean Divers' custom-built dive boats. Jillian was visiting Key Largo, the "Dive Capital of the World," with her parents and her boyfriend. Ocean Divers celebrated this landmark with a party/cookout for everyone on the boat with Jillian … and she walked away with a ton of prizes. Scubapro presented her with a top of the line set of dive equipment. Jillian was fitted with a new Lady Hawk B.C. and a MK 25/G250V regulator. Key Largo Resorts presented Jillian with a six-day five-night stay at the Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn or Marina Del Mar. Ocean Divers gave Jillian a dive card with 20 two-tank dive trips on it to be used anytime that she desires. Scubapro also provided the 499,999th diver -Jilian's boyfriend Ron Sirt - with a MK11/S555, and also provided another MK11/S555 to the next diver (number 500,001), Brian Silverman.

Ocean Divers and its staff had a great time celebrating with Jillian and the other boat passengers and are now looking toward the one millionth diver and the 20,000th certification. Ocean Divers wants to thank all of its past students and SCUBA divers for making this celebration possible.
