The RescuEAN

The RescuEAN TM pod is a lifesaving aid for the qualified rescue diver in a situation where an O2 kit is unavailable, being used or exhausted.

The training manuals of most 'diver certifying' agencies state - "If you run out of oxygen, but have enriched air Nitrox available, give that to a responsive patient via a scuba regulator". However, a rescue diver using enriched air Nitrox could be in a situation where:

o The patient may be unconscious or just semi-conscious and breathing shallowly. o The dive location may be remote. o The patient may be on a private rib or boat where an O2 kit is not available. o The Emergency Services take longer than the important "first 10 minutes" to reach the patient.

Solution:

The RescuEAN pod was designed for use with a dive accident patient whether conscious, semi-conscious or unconscious. It is easily recognisable as well as being light and compact enough to be carried at all times. It becomes negatively buoyant in water and quickly drains on leaving. The pod is simple to use. It connects directly to the rescue diver's Nitrox cylinder LP hose, normally used with a BCD or dry suit. The pod's 'pressure reducing' control allows the O2 enriched Nitrox mix to be given to a patient via an oral/nasal mask with an O2 inlet at 15Lpm or 25Lpm. The pod is constructed of 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel, plastic, nylon and rubber - making the pod robust and corrosion resistant. The 'O' rings within the pod's valve assembly are of medical grade Silicone and are recommended for use with low pressure O2 mixes. The aim behind the RescuEAN Pod's development was to fill the 'gap' between basic Emergency First Response 'mouth to mouth' and the full O2 rescue kit. Dive schools are able to buy up to 5 pods at a 10% discounted rate. Visit our website: www.rescuean.com
