Scuba Instructor Marries Former Student in Underwater Wedding

Diving into life together, a scuba instructor and her former student got hitched where their love story began — underwater.

British Army sergeant Thomas Mould met now-wife Sandra Hyde in 2013, when he was sent for dive training to the Amoray Dive Resort in the Keys, where Hyde worked as an instructor. The two hit it off, and after four years of long distance, they tied the knot.

Originally planning to wed in an old English church, the couple decided an underwater wedding in the Keys would be both more appropriate and cost-effective.

The ceremony, complete with an exchanging of rings, signing of vows via dive slate and tossing of the bouquet, took place on Molasses Reef in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary off Key Largo.

The couple decided to spend their honeymoon in the Keys before returning to England together.
