For 47 years, Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas has introduced guests and scuba divers to the wonders of the underwater Bahamas world. Famous for its shark dive sites and epic movie set locations, the family-owned operation has an adventure for every visitor to New Providence, Bahamas.
What started as a one-boat operation in 1978 after Stuart Cove saved enough money from his job as a stunt and safety diver on the James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only, has turned into a ten-boat operation — complete with a dive shop and photo facility.
The state-of-the-art dive facility offering snorkeling, SNUBA, scuba diving, underwater photo and production services is located in Coral Harbour, on an enclosed canal with 600 feet of dock space to accommodate the fleet of dive and snorkel boats. Shark Bite Grill serves up classic lunch fare like burgers and sandwiches to enjoy after a morning of diving and their retail center is stocked with everything you need to enjoy a day of water sports —from apparel, sunscreen, branded swag and snorkel gear.

Fin Photo has become one of the Caribbean’s leading full-service digital underwater photo centers. There’s no better place to get started in underwater photography or practice your skills than the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas, where gorgonian sea fans sway and sharks and divers coexist. For serious, amateur professional photographers in search of a new challenge, Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas hosts a Shark Shooter program. Participants of this program experience life as a professional underwater photographer, which includes storyboard sessions, use of Neptunic chainmail and a private charter to visit sites away from peak times and capture every desired shot.
For divers and nonphotographers looking to get as much time in the water with sharks, the Shark Adventure tour is a must. This experience allows divers to choose two of the four shark dive sites; Shark Wall, The Arena, Shark Wall North or The Runway— all teeming with Caribbean reef sharks. To enhance your shark diving experience and gain knowledge about the species, divers often complete a PADI Shark Awareness Specialty course, which includes a free swim with sharks.
With more than 35 dive sites only a short boat ride from the dock, divers have their pick of shallow reefs, wreck dives, walls and several shark dive sites. Popular sites like the Pumpkin patch deliver, with its abundant marine life and large, orange coral heads. Wreck lovers can choose to dive amongst the famous Bond Wrecks like the Thunderball airplane, the Steel Forest or Stuart Cove’s very own Shipwreck Trail, featuring six unique wrecks.
