Travel Like a Local: United States and Canada
Look past the tourist traps brimming with imported souvenirs and overpriced drinks for a topside rendezvous with a more local flair. We asked dive pros about their favorite things to do in between dives and here's what they had to say.
1 ) Diver’s Cove
Laguna Beach, California
Laguna Beach has numerous coves for diving and snorkeling. One of our favorite sites is the Diver’s Cove/Heisler Park area. It offers a beautiful view of the Pacific coastline and is a great place to have a cookout, hang with friends or just lounge around in between dives!

2 ) Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Juno Beach, Florida
If I can’t be underwater with Sirena and the crew at Pura Vida Divers, the next best thing topside is time spent at the local sea turtle rehabilitation center, Center in Juno Beach. You can meet the sea turtles and learn how you can help these threatened and endangered species.

3 ) Hiking
Oahu, Hawaii
One of my favorite topside activities is exploring the areas less traveled. Being on an island with a population of over a million, it’s sometimes hard to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. I find my getaway while hiking some of Oahu’s scenic hikes, like Kaena Point or Kuliouou Ridge Trail.
