ScubaLab tested 10 new dive computers in a head-to-head evaluation. The ATMOS MISSION3 is our Testers Choice for non-air-integrated dive computers.

We tested computers at the University of Southern California Hyperbaric chamber on Catalina Island, where we put them through a series of simulated dives to gauge the performance of their decompression algorithm.

We also tested computers in the field at Devil’s Den Prehistoric Springs in Central Florida. We evaluated how easy the computers were to set up and use, how well we could see their screens in different conditions, and how well they presented data during our dives.

Test divers loved this dive computer's comfortable watch-like design, stunning display, simple operation and advanced smartwatch capabilities. The 1.4 inch AMOLED display earned excellent scores for reading, thanks to large, rounded characters and a dedicated button that quickly cycles between brightness settings. Alarms include both colors and adjustable audible and vibrating alerts. The computer's five-button operation is very intuitive and remains accessible even while wearing gloves. The main guide display is data-rich and well-organized.

Secondary screens include a digital compass that simultaneously shows the current heading and its reciprocal a no-pause stopwatch and user-defined data fields test. Divers love the unmissable, unmistakable safety stop with clear instructions and a to-the-second countdown timer. Users are asked to enter their ending take pressure at the conclusion of each dive, which is then saved to the logbook, along with a calculated breathing rate. Dive logs are easy to access and include a dive profile graphic bookmarked with alerts and stops.

The computer has simple GPS navigation to preloaded and user-defined dive spots. It also has a freediving mode, basic fitness tracking, and can display phone notifications, tied data and weather information, a favorite of test divers, the MISSION3 is our Testers Choice for non-air-integrated dive computers.
