Five Reasons to Date a Scuba Diver

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, love is in the air! Or for divers…love is in the tanks. If you haven’t dated a scuba diver before, it may be time to get off the dating apps and join your local diving club instead.

Here are five reasons to date a scuba diver. You’ll thank us later!

1. Divers are Adventurous

Divers are notorious for traveling halfway around the world, catching a dodgy boat, and staying in a rural hut – just to reach a good dive site. If you date a diver, your life will never be boring again. Grab your fins, buckle up, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

2. Divers are Healthy

Divers get a healthy dose of Vitamin D, making them tan and beautiful. When someone spends a lot of time outdoors, it radiates in their face. You can see it in the glow of their skin and the brilliance of their smile. Divers also tend to be in good physical condition. From carrying tanks to kicking through currents, divers get their fair share of exercise. Plus, scuba diving itself can burn up to 600 calories per hour. To put things into perspective, that’s the same amount as jogging – but way cooler.

3. Divers are Experts at Communication

Lack of communication is a common problem in relationships. With divers, this will never be an issue! Have you ever tried to have a conservation underwater with no words, limited facial expressions and countless distractions? Divers have, and they are masters at it. If someone can communicate effectively underwater, they can definitely communicate well above water.

4. Divers are Full of Fun Facts and Good Stories

Divers are great people to bring to dinner parties because they will always have something interesting to talk about. The underwater world is full of unique marine life and interesting facts. Did you know that some species of shark are only six inches long or clownfish change gender? Divers can dazzle any person with this plethora of knowledge! Divers also have stories that will captivate an audience, like the time they went diving with 50 hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos Islands or had a curious baby whale shark tag along for a dive in the Philippines.

5. Divers Respect the Earth

Divers have seen a part of the world that most people will never have the opportunity to experience. By spending time in the underwater world and seeing the threats currently facing our oceans, divers know that it’s worth protecting. They will probably be the first person to refuse single-use plastic or whip out a metal straw. And really, is there anything more attractive?
