Scuba Diving App: Underwater Photo Simulator

Underwater Photo Simulator

Version:1.0

Price: $0.99 - $2.99

Platform: iPhone,iPod, iPad (HD)

Description: Underwater Photo simulator allows you to practice adjusting f-stop, shutter speed and flash power settings to train your brain to choose the right settings on your dive camera when that precious photo opportunity arises.

Pros: Instant feedback on the changes you make to the image.

Cons: Only one image on the iPhone version, and three on the iPad version, to test your skills with. No shots of wrecks.

Bottom Line: A very unique tool that helps you learn what those settings in the custom menu of your camera do. It also is great for the amateur photographer to see how drastic one change can make to a photo. The iPhone version has only one image for you to manipulate (the wide angle version). The iPad version includes two additional images, a close-up image and a macro image. The developers informed me that more images were coming to version 2.0 in the near future. At this point, it is a neat introduction to photo simulation, but I got bored fast. I’m hoping version 2.0 has a bunch of photos — I can’t wait to play with it and burn into my brain the right setting for every shot.
